There was a young penguin called Tux
Who was feeling that 'Life really sucks'
He was down in the mouth
Coz he yearned to go south
But he just didn't have the bucks!
|
 |
 |
Now Tux the penguin was of sound mind
But he found himself in a bit of a bind
He lived in the city
Which was a great pity
Coz there weren't many of his own kind
|
Meanwhile Geoff and Cath booked a trip
On a Russian ice-strengthened ship
Tux heard this with glee
And begged 'Please take me!'
So they stowed him away, just for kicks

Once sailing far out at sea
Tux was impatient to see
His mates down South
He would wail and pout
"I really hope they like me!!"
|
On Enderby Tux got to meet
Some yellow-eyed penguins he'd greet
They were very shy
But Tux gave it a try
"No yellow eyes but I have yellow feet?"
|
 |
 |
On MacQuarie Tux got quite furious
Those King Penguins were most curious
One pecked him a lot
In a rather rude spot
Which Tux didn't find very luxurious
|
A Royal was most interested
To see if Tux would have nested
With her on the shore
Tux said "Ask no more!
My manhood is yet to be tested!"

At Buckles Bay near the Aussie base
The Gentoo penguins made their case
"Our cousin Tux!
You look just like us!"
Tux had finally found his own race
|
At Cape Adare Tux did decree
The penguins here seem very happy
They would flap about
And squawk and shout
He loved the cute Adelie
|
 |
 |
At our furthest point south in Antarctica
Tux met the grand penguin Emperor
To them he'd retort
"I'm not THAT short!"
They'd laugh and say "Get away with ya"
|
Heading home we all grumbled and moaned
Tux had sated his desire to roam
He'd made many friends
With his fellow penguins
But Melbourne was where he called home
